Killen Rangers under 17 ladies drew 3-3 in a highly entertaining game with Lisburn under 17 ladies. With both teams showing great attacking flare early on both teams had chances to take an early lead, with Kym Buchanan and Holly Johnston coming close for Killen. Killen did take the lead half way through the first half, when Rebecca Stewart did well at the back before passing it out to Emma Harpur who turned and played through Emma Kee who wasted no time in hitting a thunderous strike from 25 yards into the top corner. Lisburn came at Killen strongly after this and soon found themselves level when their caption hit a unstoppable free kick. With half time coming up Lisburn got another goal, good defending from Killens Lauren Scott and Stacey Johnston kept out Lisburn only for the ball to fall nicely to their midfielder who hit the shot first time into the top corner.
Killen came out stronger in the second half and where putting huge pressure on Lisburn and coming close on several occasions through Erin Campbell and Chanelle Darragh. It wasn't until half way through the second half before Killen found the equaliser, a superb corner from Chanelle found Emma Harpur in the box who hit a composed shot low and hard in past the keeper. Two minutes later and Killen found themselves ahead, great work in midfield from Emma Harpur and Erin resulted in the later finding Hollie who took one touch before firing in an unstoppable shot from 30 yards out that flew into the top corner.
After this Lisburn came at Killen strongly and Killen where defending brilliantly with keeper Chelsea Vaughan clearing up any danger on serval occasions to keep Lisburn at bay. Killens good defending was undone 5 minutes from time when a Lisburn midfielder hit a shot from 30 yards that took a deflecting to send it into the net. The game then fizzled out to a draw which on the bases of the full game was a fair result. Next up for Killen is an away match against St Oliver plunkett on Friday 6th June. All support welcome
